This CD encompasses chamber music by eleven Latvian composers, past and present, from around the world. The idea for such a compilation occurred to flutist Ilona Kudina back in 1990s, after she had worked a number of stylistically striking compositions for flute by Latvian composers living abroad into her repertoire, as she felt that they merited the attention of a wider audience. "On the Bridge" presents works created by several generations of Latvian composers while residing outside Latvia and reflects a range of aesthetic orientations and traditions.
